You should allow at least one hour for the initial appointment and possibly longer if you have a complex health history and we need to go into more depth about this.

You only need to bring yourself, but if you want to bring along medical tests, notes or other information you may think helpful, please do so. This is not essential unless something abnormal has been reported. You are more than welcome to bring a partner or other support person to your appointment if you wish.

Initial and subsequent appointments are $55

In the beginning, you will be asked about what problems are troubling you and then there will be further questions to help understand more about you and your health history.

By talking with you, understanding your history and making in-depth health assessments we work out the first step, which means getting some help from Nature's medicine chest. Then we need to work out the second step, which may include making a dietary change, or putting something important into the daily routine, or attending to a source of harm. Healing is not an event but rather it is a journey, and like all journeys, it begins with the first steps.

At some point you will be asked to poke out your tongue and you will get a photograph taken of your tongue at that point. Tongues tell us a lot about what is happening inside people, and, over the course of treatments, they go through subtle but important changes that are useful to be able to track by having before and after photographs. I will also spend time feeling the pulses at your wrist and, later in the appointment, may again use your pulse to help test some herbs that I am thinking of giving you.

By the end of the appointment, you will be given a course of one or more herbs to take and there will very likely also be some achievable goal that you will have both agreed to work on to further support your healing process. We will also have a chat about how to best follow up on your progress to be sure that you are getting good results in a timely manner.
